Mexican-built corporate twins, the Ford Fusion and the Mercury Milan, have barely been on sale in the GCC for a year, but they’ve been available in the American market since at least 2006. Therefore, the cars are due for a major facelift in 2010, and these are the first photos of the production-ready models.
It is same to say that the overall shape hasn’t changed much, and most of the redesign has concentrated on upgrading the front end, with most likely a new interior for each car. Latest news suggest that the American engine range includes a 174 hp 2.5-litre 4-cylinder, a 240 hp 3.0-litre V6 and a 263 hp 3.5-litre V6, all available with a new 6-speed automatic. The Americans will also get hybrid versions of the Fusion and Milan, with a reported range as high as 1100 km. So far, only the four-banger base engine is available in current models sold in Dubai.
